My name is Grace Donalson and currently attend The Gary and Jerri-Ann Jacobs High Tech High. I have been apart of the High Tech system for the past 6 years as I also attended High Tech Middle for middle school. At High Tech High I am exposed to project based learning which allows me to learn more than an average textbook would. On a daily basis I am exposed to research, computers, engineering, communication, leadership, and problem solving. Skills I foresee as having a significant lasting effect on my life, and already do to this day.
Although school is a high priority to me, my life goes far beyond school. My family is a foster family, so I have two younger adopted siblings, four younger foster children and one younger biological sister to make a grand total of 7 siblings. In my family we grow up learning to put others needs before our own, so it only makes sense that a majority of my free time is spent volunteering. I am a blood drive volunteer with the Red Cross, a volunteer with ReSpectrum, a Girl Scout working on my Gold Award with MDA and Rady Children's Hospital San Diego as well as a Girl Scout Troop leader, and a volunteer at Special Olympics. I have also started a club at my school benefiting both the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Special Olympics San Diego. Below are links to the organizations I am apart of, and soon will have blogs/work that I have completed through them there. I love what I do, I hope these pictures and websites can show you another side of me outside of school.
